Privacy policy
Last updated: July 16, 2026
1. Who we are
This policy applies to olivierbertinmahieux.com, the campaign website of Olivier Bertin-Mahieux, candidate for the Parti libéral du Québec (PLQ) in the riding of Soulanges for the October 5, 2026 provincial election. The campaign is authorized by Vanessa Hernande, the candidate's official representative with Élections Québec.
Person responsible for the protection of personal information: Frédérique Lissoir, reachable at soulangesplq@gmail.com. Any question, request, or complaint regarding your personal information may be sent to her directly.
2. Personal information we collect
We collect personal information only when you provide it voluntarily, through one of the following:
- Website contact form ("Contact" page): first name, last name, email address, and message content.
- Newsletter sign-up: email address.
- Volunteer sign-up form (hosted on Google Forms): name, contact details, and areas of interest (canvassing, phone outreach, events, social media).
Donations to the campaign are not processed through our website: they are collected directly by Élections Québec via its official platform, which has its own privacy policy. Our campaign does not collect or store your payment information.
Our site embeds Instagram (Meta) content. This third-party content, and any related cookies, are only loaded if you consent to the "Marketing" category through the cookie management banner. No other tracking or analytics tools are used on the site.
3. Purpose and use
Your personal information is used solely to:
- respond to your requests and communications;
- organize and coordinate volunteer involvement;
- send you campaign newsletter updates, if you are subscribed;
- support the logistics and follow-up of the electoral campaign.
This information is handled by the campaign team only (via Google Forms and Gmail) and is never sold, rented, or disclosed to third parties for commercial purposes. It is not shared with the Parti libéral du Québec, except where legally required (notably disclosure obligations under the Election Act regarding contributions, which are handled directly by Élections Québec, not our team).
4. Retention
Your personal information is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described above — generally for the duration of the electoral campaign and a reasonable period afterward to meet our legal obligations. Once these purposes are fulfilled, the information is destroyed or anonymized, in accordance with Law 25.
5. Electronic communications and newsletter
Newsletter sign-up is based on your express consent. Every message includes a simple, free unsubscribe mechanism. We aim to comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Law (CASL) to the extent it applies to communications from a political entity.
6. Your rights
Under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector ("Law 25"), which applies to authorized political entities, you have the right to:
- access and correct your personal information;
- withdraw your consent (for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter);
- obtain portability of your information, where required by law;
- file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI).
To exercise any of these rights, write to Frédérique Lissoir, person responsible for the protection of personal information, at soulangesplq@gmail.com.
